Lindsey Thwaites, 51, thanks her Border Collie dog, Brian, for saving her life.
The woman revealed to the Daily Mail that she discovered she had stage three anal cancer thanks to her four-legged friend, who annoyingly kept sniffing her butt. Lindsey had ignored the first symptoms thinking it was menstruation or simply hemorrhoids, which she suffered from. since she gave birth in the 1990s.

In the month of May, however, she began to notice a marked worsening, until one night she woke up covered in blood, her dog Brian had sensed that something was wrong and this pushed her owner to consult a doctor.

The tumor discovered by the dog

In June, Lindsey had to undergo various cycles of chemotherapy and radiotherapy but says that Brian was her "little superhero" in those months, who helped her overcome difficult moments during her recovery.

Lindsey then wanted to launch an appeal, inviting and encouraging people to fight embarrassment and get checked in case of physical discomfort or needs.

A story that also sheds light on the extraordinary abilities of dogs, who, thanks to their exceptional sense of smell, are even able to detect illnesses and ailments.
